Phase 1: The Plan – Building Our Vision (2024)

The “Shaping Our Future” journey begins with a strategic announcement, introducing AMCC’s bold plan to create a guiding framework for the maintenance industry. AMCC introduced Co-Chairs Robert Kucheran and Mandy Kaiser at the National Construction Labour Relations Alliance (NCLRA) conference in Toronto. As esteemed leaders in labour relations and industry operations, the Co-Chairs will oversee the Advisory Panel, a diverse group of experts tasked with developing the project's keystone: a comprehensive discussion paper.

  • Launch of Advisory Panel and Backgrounder – AMCC’s overview of project goals, strategic pillars, and anticipated outcomes

Phase 2: Research – Gathering Insights & Drafting Recommendations (Q1 2025)

Following the introduction of the project, AMCC will formally launch the Advisory Panel and its work at a signature event in Calgary on December 2, preceding the Turnarounds Super Conference. From January to April 2025, the Advisory Panel will lead a comprehensive research phase, interviewing industry experts, analyzing emerging trends, and crafting preliminary recommendations. This phase aims to capture a wide spectrum of perspectives and ensure that the project reflects the diverse needs and opportunities within the sector.

Phase 3: Outcomes – Crafting Strategic Recommendations (Q2-3 2025)

Building on the research phase, AMCC will share the discussion paper draft at the AMCC Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June 2025. This event provides an additional opportunity for AMCC members and stakeholders to review the document and offer input, ensuring the project aligns with industry needs. The Advisory Panel and AMCC board will carefully consider this feedback and other input received through the panel’s process to shape the final paper, setting a strategic course that reflects both the collective insights and priorities of the sector.

The culmination of the Shaping Our Future project will take place in September 2025 at a signature event in Jasper, Alberta, where AMCC will present the final discussion paper along with recommended action items. These recommendations will provide AMCC members, industry leaders, and policymakers with a strategic direction for growth, innovation, and sustainability.
