2025 AGM

AMCC held its annual AGM on June 4, 2025 at Ernest’s, located on the NAIT campus in Edmonton. We opened with a welcome address from NAIT’s Matt Lindberg, Dean of School of Construction and Building Sciences and Dean of Apprenticeship, and Stephen McMillan, Dean of the School of Transportation and School of Manufacturing and Automation.

Board Chair Ken Sandmoen reflected on AMCC’s significant contributions and progress in the past year, including collective bargaining support, labour relations workshops, and productive meetings with political leaders at all levels of government to advocate for the sector.

AGM attendees also heard from AMCC’s new Executive Strategic Advisor, Doreen Cole, whose career in the energy sector spans more than three decades. Doreen highlighted three key reasons AMCC is uniquely positioned to make a major impact:

  1. AMCC has a unifying national vision. Bringing stakeholders from across Canada and diverse industries together will position members to seize opportunities from increased infrastructure investments that governments are poised to make.
  2. AMCC is focused on people. By championing safety, mental wellness, and skill development, the association’s leadership is helping to ensure an empowered workforce that is ready to deliver.
  3. AMCC is leading efforts to tackle urgent challenges. The association is engaging key stakeholders to collaboratively solve current and emerging problems, including through the ongoing work of its Advisory Panel.

The AMCC looks forward to Doreen’s support through this next phase of growth and innovation.
