Beyond the Bid: Building Trust and Delivering Value in Maintenance Contracting
The Supply Chain Canada conference was held in Calgary from June 12-14, 2025. In addition to being a sponsor and meeting conference attendees at our booth, AMCC hosted a panel discussion titled "Beyond the Bid: Building Trust and Delivering Value in Maintenance Contracting" that offered the opportunity to not only address procurement challenges, but also what’s actually working in the field of industrial maintenance contracting. Panelists included:
• Doreen Cole, Moderator (AMCC Executive Strategic Advisor)
• Alexander (Sasha) Sergeev (NOVA Chemicals) – Owner perspective
• Jason McNamara (Stuart Olson) – Contractor perspective
• Mandy Kaiser (Connect Group, AMCC Advisory Panel Co-Chair)
• Ken Sandmoen (BrandSafway, AMCC Board Chair)
The panel members discussed:
• How owner–contractor relationships thrive when built on early alignment and “radical transparency”.
• What collaborative procurement looks like—not in theory, but in real-world execution.
• The structural gaps in traditional RFP processes—and how to close them with trust, joint KPIs, and shared incentive.
• How we can take lived experience and turn it into actionable, scalable recommendations.
The takeaway? Better results don’t come from the lowest bid—they come from better relationships.
