Board Spotlight – Ken Sandmoen, AMCC Board Chair

AMCC's dynamic Board Chair, Ken Sandmoen boasts 25-plus years of shaping the maintenance contractor industry. With a zeal for progress, he champions collaboration, empowering workers and enhancing industry standards. Passionate about mentoring, Ken drives positive change, ensuring the well-being of maintenance professionals.

A regional vice president with BrandSafway, Ken has held multiple positions of increased responsibility with the organization at various locations across Canada. Ken’s work in the industry started after he attended SAIT for Civil Engineering Technology while also attending the University of Calgary for business. Ken says he’s been passionate about the work since his early days in the field.

“Every day something unique occurs that challenges us. Our clients are continually looking for efficiencies, technology progression and ways to reduce costs. Coming up with solutions to help them do that is a passion of mine and I absolutely love doing that.”

Ken’s unwavering commitment to fairness and innovation mirrors AMCC's values, something he brought to the organization as one of its founders – an effort he was involved in for five years before its formation in 2023.

Beyond his stellar professional record, Ken's community engagement shines, advocating for positive change nationwide.  Proud of his involvement with the United Way as volunteer Board Chair for Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo, Ken is equally passionate about growing communities as he is about the maintenance industry. Family-centered, he balances parenthood with career milestones. Committed to personal wellness and family happiness, Ken's journey resonates far beyond the boardroom.
